A visit to Gisborne market day
There is so much to explore around the Macedon Ranges – winter or not, you can make it a wonderful day out. The market is absolutely lovely (it’s on every first Sunday of the month). It’s full of fresh produce, artwork, hand crafted items and of course food and good coffee. If you’re going with kids there is plenty do for them too: face painting, a petting zoo with lots of animals, sometimes a jumping castle. It gets really busy depending on the weather. With the sun out and the skies blue, it certainly picked up towards lunchtime.
If you’ve had enough of the market, there are plenty of cafes to go to. Or the park. Or the botanical gardens. The botanical gardens stretch out just behind the park and the big playground in Gisborne and invite for a run around or a leisurely walk. When it’s windy it’s ideal to fly a kite. And what kind of walk would it be if little boys didn’t tackle big sticks?
